- Abstract
- In 1954 there are fifteen letters, five with envelopes, and four cards. There is a letter and form from The Ladies Home Journal, Jan. 13, 1956, asking to include the Los Luceros Hacienda in its guidebook of homes. Following this are letters between Maria Chabot and Mary Cabot Wheelwright, January through March, which concern this listing and opening of the house to public tours. There are a total of six letters and four post cards from MCW to MC and five letters from MC to MCW. There is one letter from MC to Kenneth Foster, who would become director of MCW's Museum of Navajo Ceremonial Art, concerning a visit to Los Luceros and a letter from Rosita Roybal of the Museum of New Mexico concerning the acquisition of an archive of early New Mexican documents of interest to MC. In 1955 there are five letters, two with envelopes, and all between MC and MCW. The letters describe life and business at Los Luceros. In 1956 there are thirty-five letters, seven with envelopes, two post cards, and one receipt from Carlota Archuleta, dated Oct. 31, [1956]. Within these are sixteen letters and two post cards from MCW to MC and twelve letters from MC to MCW. There are two letters from MC to Josiah Wheelwright, Feb. 28, 1956 and Aug. 22, 1956; two letters between MC and T. Dufur, Feb. 17, 1956, concern advertisement of a rental; and one letter from Oliver Seth to MC, April 4, 1956, concerns reparations for an accident on Los Luceros property; with this is a letter to Seth from Dr. W.C. Weston concerning treatment of the victim. There is one letter from MC to "Harry," April 2, 1956, last name unknown.
